Looking for a lab manager starting September 1st

Dr. Azim Shariff and The Centre for Applied Moral Psychology (CAMP) are looking for a half-time (10-20 hours per week) lab manager/research assistant in the psychology department at the University of British Columbia’s Vancouver campus. Current UBC students are especially encouraged to apply!

The CAMP is a social psychology lab investigating moral psychology as it relates to religion, technology, economics and other social trends. The position will ideally start September 2018 for two years (with the potential for more).

 

 

Responsibilities will include:

  • recruiting and managing research assistants
  • managing data
  • scheduling
  • assisting in designing and conducting studies and providing general support to researchers
  • budgets, IRB protocols and other clerical work
  • small conference organizing and correspondence

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidate will:

  • Have or be close to completing a bachelor’s degree in psychology or a closely related field
  • Be very conscientious, organized and detail-oriented
  • Have some experience with social science research, data entry/management, and writing in APA format
  • The ability to work independently and juggle multiple deadlines
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
